Free Digital Scrapbooking Download: Bandana Overlay

There is no doubt that I am a country girl at heart. I didn’t grow up on a ranch, but I did grow up in a family of cowboys. I come from a long line of them. And so did Mr. Messy.

I like to say that if I could live in the city, I would. Mr. Messy simply won’t allow it. But if I could have my way, I think I would deeply miss cow turds, tall grass, and the big sky. I would also miss the opportunities to wear tacky western designs. I don’t know if “tacky” is the best word, but I’m sure that many city-dwelling folks know what I am saying when I describe bandanas, embossed leather, and silver buckles as tacky. I love it all! I love a paisley print, flower embossed leather, denim, and a pair of silver-tipped boots.

Okay, just kidding about the boots. Unless you’ve seen a nice pair recently.

I made this bandana overlay a few years ago and I’m sharing it with you today. It was on this site, but then I deleted my entire blog and thought it was time to put it back where it belongs.

This layout features Mr. Messy great-uncle. I thought the bandana was fitting, only because old cowboys and handkerchiefs seem to go hand-in-hand. I want to note that the journaling on this page came directly from Mr. Messy’s grandmother’s book.

So there you have it! If you are craving a little bit of country, help yourself to this bandana overlay. And beware of the cow turds.

Thank you so much for this overlay! I digital scrapbook, but I’m using this overlay to make something for my classroom. It is western themed and I needed bandana paper badly, but didn’t want to pay the $4-$8 it cost to download the kits that contained the one piece of paper I wanted to use! So I appreciate your generosity. You make it possible for teachers like me to customize our classrooms affordably!!

Very nice bandana but I need help. How do you fill in the color? I am using PSE9 and cannot figure it out. Thanks for your help.

Hi Chris, You would need to create a separate layer in behind the overlay. If you are not familiar with how to do this in PSE, email for further help.
